For many cancer patients living in the Clackamas area, receiving radiation treatment means daily drives into Portland. A new radiation oncology center brings this crucial care closer to home.

Clackamas Radiation Oncology Center, which opened in December, is a collaboration between the Providence Cancer Center and
The Oregon Clinic Radiation Oncology division.

Clackamas Radiation Oncology Center houses the same technology available at Providence Cancer Center, including Elekta Synergy,

a multi-functional linear accelerator that features intensity-modulated radiation therapy and image-guided radiation therapy. These features allow clinicians to sculpt radiation dose to more effectively spare healthy tissue and deliver treatment more accurately by imaging tumors immediately before each treatment.

In the future, the facility will include medical oncology to provide patients with comprehensive, integrated cancer care at one location.
