The Oregon Clinic Expands Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Specialty

Portland, OR The Oregon Clinic, the largest private specialty physician practice in Oregon, continues to grow and will welcome the physicians and nurse practitioners of Oregon Pulmonary Associates, P.C. (OPA) to its expanding pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine practice beginning April 1, 2016.
The group brings eleven board certified physicians to The Oregon Clinic team—Gregory Blair, MD, FCCP, FACP; Jeffrey Bluhm, MD, FCCP, FAASM, D-ABSM; John Butler, MD, FCCP; Gregory Flick, MD, FCCP; Robert Kim, MD; Lianne Lin, MD, David Liss, MD; Hataya Kristy Poonyagariyagorn, MD; Carl Riddick, MD, FCCP; Randy Sasich, MD; and Jared Shipley, MD. Two Nurse Practitioners will also be joining TOC: Debra White, NP-C and Mary-Beth Carnaghan, NP-C.
OPA’s practice, established 37 years ago, includes experts in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine who treat a range of lung conditions including acute respiratory failure, asthma, sleep apnea, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and insomnia. They will continue to practice at their three office locations: at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center in Tualatin, and at Providence Newberg Medical Center in Newberg.

The specialists and providers joining The Oregon Clinic:
Dr. Gregory Blair earned his medical degree at the University of Utah College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship University of California at Irvine. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care, and Sleep Disorders Medicine. He is the Medical Director, Sleep Disorder Disorders Center, Providence Newberg Medical Center. Dr. Blair’s areas of interest include thoracic oncology, pleural disease, and complex sleep disorders. Dr. Blair is also one of the few area doctors with expertise in advanced interventional pulmonary procedures.
Dr. Jeffrey Bluhm earned his medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at University of California San Diego. He is Board Certified in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care and is distinguished as a Diplomate, American Board of Sleep Medicine. He is the Medical Director of the Sleep Disorder Disorders Center at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. Dr. Bluhm is an expert in sleep medicine who helps to diagnose and treat sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and other complex sleep disorders.
Dr. John Butler earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University and his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Indiana University. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Pulmonary Medicine. He is a founding physician and medical director of Pacific Pulmonary Vascular Institute. While he has a significant interest in general pulmonary medicine including interstitial lung disease, he also brings a tremendous amount of expertise to the growing field of pulmonary artery hypertension.
Dr. Gregory Flick earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Genesee Hospital in Rochester, NY and his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at University of California Los Angeles. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Pulmonary Disease and in Critical Care Medicine. He is former Medical Director of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center Intensive Care Unit. His areas of interest include critical care medicine and advanced interventional bronchoscopic procedures.
Dr. Robert Kim earned his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI and his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Pulmonary Disease and in Critical Care Medicine. He is Associate Director of Neuro-Intensive Care Unit, St. Vincent Medical Center. His primary areas of interest include critical care medicine, interstitial lung disease, and sarcoidosis. He also enjoys his time teaching residents at St. Vincent Medical Center.
Dr. Lianne Lin earned her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and her Pulmonary and
Critical Care fellowship at University of California at Irvine Medical Center. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine. Her areas of interest include thoracic oncology, pleural disease, and pulmonary hypertension.
Dr. David Liss earned his medical degree at John Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Brown University School of Medicine and his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at Yale University School of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American Thoracic Society.
Dr. Hataya Kristy Poonyagariyagorn earned her medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in Bronx, NY. She served as Chief Medical Resident during her residency in Internal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, and then went on to complete her Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine. She is the Medical Director of Providence Newberg Medical Center ICU and Respiratory Care Services, is the Associate Program Director of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program, and is the Pulmonary Medicine and Subspecialty Medicine Associate Program Director. Her areas of clinical interest include COPD and pulmonary hypertension.
Dr. Carl Riddick earned his medical degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his Internship in General Surgery at the United States Navy, Navy Hospital, his residency in Internal Medicine at University of California Los Angeles and his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at University of California San Diego. He is Board Certified in Pulmonary Disease and in Critical Care Medicine. He holds the position of Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. He is also the Medical Director for Subspecialty Education in Critical Care Medicine at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center Internal Medicine Program, and is the Regional Co-Medical Director of Critical Care Services for Providence Health & Services in Oregon. Dr. Riddick has played an instrumental role in the development of protocols designed to ensure up to date, standardized care in intensive care units across Oregon. Along with his passion for critical care, areas of interest include venous thromboembolic disease, interstitial lung disease, and pleural disease.
Dr. Randy Sasich earned his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Pulmonary Disease and in Critical Care Medicine. Along with Dr. Sasich’s clinical expertise, he also has significant medical teaching experience. His areas of interest include venous thromboembolic disease, critical care medicine, and pulmonary fibrosis.
Dr. Jared Shipley earned his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine. He is the Medical Director of the Respiratory Therapy department and the Pulmonary Rehabilitation program at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. His areas of interest include thoracic oncology, COPD, and sarcoidosis.
